The Prix Pictet was launched in 2008 from a bank in Geneva and has now established itself as one of the awards more important in the fields of photography and sustainability. has a unique mandate: to use the power of photography to communicate vital messages to a global audience. The goal is to discover a photograph of the highest level that can support large social and environmental challenges of new millennium.
The award is more than 400 million people. The exhibitions of photographs selected for the first two cycles of the Prix Pictet have already toured the world: Paris , Thessaloniki, Dubai, Hong Kong, Eindhoven, Dresden, Bonn, London, Berlin, Lausanne, Geneva, Dublin, Moscow, Milan, Madrid and New Delhi.
These photographs show the beauty of Earth we share. But they also aimed to show the damage that intentionally or negligently, we are doing to our environment. They are celebrating, but also a call to a different ethic of life.
The theme of the first Prix Pictet was the water, the second Prix Pictet is: Earth. The third cycle of the award will focus on the theme of "growth". At the same time blessing and curse , growth in all its forms, presents one of the greatest enigmas that humanity faces.
